Good Beer ALERT! Abita

Postby tbone16 on Sun Mar 16, 2008 10:15 pm

So usually i drown my sorrows with Miller High Life or Pabst Blue Ribbon, but tonight I am a lucky little monkey. While driving back from a surfless Florida spring break escape, I managed to stop in Slidell LA, were I came across Abita Beer in a gas station. I promptly asked daddy to purchase me a six pack for $8.95 (rich mans beer eh?), cuz I am a HUGE beer trier type guy. I am turnin one to piss right now, and let me tell you, good stuff.

I gues they make this stuff with good ol' cajun grown Strawberrys. And yes, that does sound quite gay, but the gayer sounding part is that it does in fact taste of the fruit.

Let me reiterate, that it only sounds gay, doesn't taste gay at all. There is a strawberry taste there, but not a fruity one, with a super robust beerness backing it.

Ever tried Chimay? Illest beer ever, brewed by a buncha gangster-ass monks in Belgium. Its kinda expensive, but if you drink an entire bottle (1 litre, i think(*13 bucks @ Specs*)) you oughtta be pretty throwed, especially if it's the first time you've had it. You can totally keep you street cred if you throw it in a paper bag- looks like a forty!

Ol roomate of mine is always sippin on the preamo specks beers that cost you some dough like that, and get you drunked up accordingly.

Abita is not bad brewha. Most people have only had their Turbodog but i will have to try this straberry stuff you speak of. Remember what the name was?

N-bombr is most definitely right about Chimay although he is paying far too much for it. They have 3 different kinds. The White (dry), The Red (dry with some sweet), and the blue, a hops filled sweet delicious kick you in your ass cause I have as much alcohol as wine drink fest. I used to drink 2 of those before festivals or what not and you walk in needing a V-8

Want to try some Dogfish Head Midas Touch, google it. Maybe it'll take away the pain from this broken knee.
