So a couple of you guys know who Sergio is and a couple of you guys have even been fortunate to chill with him. Hell, I watched Hutch dog chug champagne with him. John D. had some pretty epic convos with him, despite the fact that he doesnt speak much english and john doesnt speak much potugese. Gettin to the point, if you are unaware of his existance, go ahead and give yourself a stern one to the taint. Cuz the dude is the raddest DH slider ever, and I don't think this fact is changin soon. You realy have to meet him to get the full Sergio expierance, scratch that, you realy have to stand with you mouth open in awe while he careens down a hill at 30+ commiting to tricks that you couldnt do in the bathtub (just seein if your payin attention). Brazillians have a radically differnt aproach to riding a skateboard and I dig it. Here's his part in flow, just in case you need to catch up.

Board description and background
So this is a pro model board right? So this board was developed to suit the professional talent of a certain indavidual right? hmmmmmm..... Intense deduction has lead us to the conclusion that if its Sergs board, well them this board is probally suited for DH slidin. Especialy stand ups. Its specs (33 X 8.625) are that of a pretty standerd transition board. So what is this iddy biddy pool board doin on a LONG board website? Let me get this one bit off my chest, I dig gravity skatin boards. Its becuase I'm workin on doin this whole cooky engineering thing; I would like to think i can see quality in things. Mike Bream is allready an engineer and it realy shows in shape of the serg deck, which is mos def a DOWNHILL BOARD. Just downhill like Sergio does it, not downhill like K-Rimes does it. The R&D behind this board is pretty damn extensive and it was a long awaited deck. The most important feature of a slide deck are the pockets. These pockets allow a little something for your feet or toes to grab onto while you are committed to something gnarly and fast. Well the serg deck accomplished these pockets through its wheel wells. which are pressed into the board.

In the valley left by the wells is perfect for nabbin your toes-ees, lockin you in on those techy hands down slides. But Serg aint to into those too much. Matter a fact, he kinda digs the standys a little better. Some say hes the best standing slider there will ever be. I agree with those people. So whats in this deck for him? Mo pockets!

You may notice how the SY33 has kind of a double hourglass shape. Well thats just a little hint from Breamo as to wear you might want to dig your feet into. The location of these is highly strategic. On most folks, this will get your feet pretty lined up with your shoulders. This is gonna make ya stable through a standup rotation. Notice how they kind of butt up to the kicks?

See the slight angle it puts on the shoe? Thats bring the insides of your knees closer together, and make you more stable. The press of this deck simply gives its riders quite a few hints on how to ride better. You might also note were the weight of the rider is being distributed in relation to the wheel. Think about a slalom board used to just stick to the ground, I mean pump down the hill on rails. Your gonna stand dead nuts over the bolts, gettin the wieght right over the wheels. Allowing you feet to move a bit past the bolts is gonna make for less traction, in our case, a smoother rotation in a stand up slide. Makes a bit of sense.
Bonesey's final words
I love this deck, and not just for sliding. Those pockets make it jam on the mini ramp, i mean bolted to yah like a snowboard. The board is 5plys hardrock maple, 2plys ecotech fiber. This construction provides an Orville Redenbacher pop, with a long life and stayin pretty light. Not to mention that plastic slides like butter in board slides. The short wheel base may not be the best for the beginer, but it is definatly an option. I love mine to death. I ride it loosey goosey, like all my rigs, and my surfin buddys love it. A deck that carves around but still ollies like a kick flipper? Why yes my surfer compadre, it does all of the above.
